Game of Thrones season 7 premiere (Dragonstone) had one major easter egg that according to John Bradley (Sam), we were supposed to notice- the image of knife (above) in the book Sam was reading when he realized that there is a lot of dragonglass at Dragonstone.

This is the picture of same Valyrian steel dagger that someone had tried to kill Bran with in season 1, when he was asleep due to his fall-induced coma. After Summer killed the assassin, Catelyn stark took this dagger south to King’s Landing, where Littlefinger tells her that the dagger belonged to him but after he lost a bet to Tyrion Lannister, he took it away from him, which in turn led to Catelyn arresting Tyrion and setting off a chain of events that ultimately led to the War of Five Kings.

And now the dagger has resurfaced again in the book Sam was reading. Bradley tells The Huffington Post, that it’s no coincidence:

“When we were shooting that scene, I was literally told make sure that you linger on this page. They were shooting over my shoulder and said make sure to linger on this page. Make sure we get a good shot of this page before you turn the page over.”

The same dagger also appeared in Arya Stark’s possession in this promotional image from season 7:

So will this dagger turn up again? Last time we saw it, it was in Littlefinger’s possession.

And that’s not all! There was another easter egg in that Sam scene. Another page of the book that Sam was reading revealed that dragonglass may also have some curative properties:

As you can see, the following phrases can be seen in the above image:

There are even tales of less sav…considered dragonglass as a cure for…in his great work on illnesses and dise…little harm incurs from the ingestion…not discount the harm to the gullible…better spent on practical treatments…

So dragonglass can cure something. But what? We’re guessing Jorah’s greyscale. Shireen lived in Dragonstone and her greyscale was also cured. Is this all connected? What do you think readers? Do let us know in comments.
