Pilou Asbaek (Euron), Lena Headey (Cersei), and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime) discuss Euron’s proposal to Cersei in Game of Thrones season 7 premiere (Dragonstone):

Asbaek: Euron Greyjoy, he’s charming, he’s a bastard, he’s a baddie, he’s selfish, he’s arrogant, he’s stupid, he’s smart, he’s a human being.

Coster-Waldau: I don’t think she really has been able to deal emotionally with the fact that she has lost all her children. She’s now just on this very focused path to world domination, if you will. And then when she meets Euron Greyjoy, that’s a man of her liking. He’s also crazy.

Headey: This is Cersei’s thing. She’s always cleverer than everybody else. She can always manipulate better than everyone else. So she thinks he’s (Euron) equally as ambitious as she is and ruthless. She thinks he’s dangerous enough and possibly stupid enough for her to steer.

Asbaek: I think his entire life, he’s never been respected, never been understood and now power’s not something that’s given to you. It’s something that you have to take. And you see a very beautiful girl, you wanna charm her and then you know, there’s some rumors in King’s Landing that mebbe she’s been a little bit romantic with her brother. So you need to trash talk him to win her.

Coster-Waldau: Jaime hates him. Euron Greyjoy is very clear on his intentions to rule Westeros and take Cersei as his queen.

Asbaek: You just can’t waltz in the throne room and think everyone’s gonna surrender by your charm and are gonna be convinced by that you’re gonna be the future king. You have to prove something.

Headey: Euron for her is someone who she can use for exactly what she needs. She has no intentions of giving him what he thinks he wants from her.
