Liam Cunningham, who plays Ser Davos on Game of Thrones, recently spoke to The Independent and revealed that the much anticipated season 7 of the hit HBO fantasy show will premiere in July and the network has also planned something ‘special’ for the launch:
“I’ve been disappointing various people around the world because it was meant to come out in April. It’s July now, I think. There’s going to be a launch and something special happening this year for the premiere. The bad news is, there will only be seven episodes and the [filming for the] final season starts again as far as I know in September.”
It was already known that season 7 of Game of Thrones will be delayed and now we know that we have to wait until July for the premiere. As for the ‘something special happening’, it could be anything really. A double episode premiere sounds good but also seems unlikely considering there are only 7 episodes this season.
