ramsay stalinLast episode of Game of Thrones was absolutely edge of the seat stuff. Of course, Jon Snow’s resurrection takes the cake but Ramsay Bolton’s violent acts were equally shocking. Though fans expected him to get rid of his father Roose this season but the way he left Walda and her newborn son to be eaten live by the hounds came as a big shock for many. Speaking to EW, Iwan Rheon compared his character Ramsay to the Soviet dictator Stalin, who will go to any lengths to get rid of people in his way:

“It shows a level of ambition we’ve not yet seen. His problem solving is quite basic. It’s very similar to how a lot of how totalitarian dictators solve their problems by getting rid of anybody in their way, with a very Stalin-y way of doing it.”

Rheon also says though Ramsay came off as impatient, his actions still have an effect on him:

“His stepmother gives birth to a baby boy, and that’s alarm bells right there, and his father’s warned him [about his uncertain place in the family after losing his bride Sansa Stark]. Instead of maybe trying to wait and see, it’s, ‘You have to go, mate, sorry’… It’s not calculated, it’s reactionary. And it has an effect on him, which he didn’t expect.”
