While rest of the Game of Thrones cast is highly secretive about Season 6, Ian McShane is surprisingly very open and has almost revealed his entire storyline. Probably, he is not afraid of getting fired because it is just a one-off role but it’s not very professional on his part either. Either HBO docked some money off his paycheck or he just doesn’t care. Now another interview of him has surfaced online where he has virtually confirmed who he’s bringing back. Here is an excerpt from McShane’s interview from his interview to Radio 5:
** Spoilers Ahead **
“[McShane]: My character is like a former warrior who has renounced violence, and now leads this peace cult … around wherever they are. But also, I have nursed a beloved character, a much-loved character back to life, and it reintroduces … I won’t say ‘him,’ or ‘her,’ but it’s a character that’s much-loved who everyone thinks has died, but he’s not dead. Me and my band of peace-loving brothers and sisters have nursed him back to life, so it introduces him again. Who do you think it is?
[Presenter]: It can only be The Hound, or Jon Snow.
[McShane]: Hmm, I’ll leave you with that one, I think you might guess which one it is. It’s not the latter. It might be the former.”
That’s quite an interview. First he decides not to give away the gender of character he is bringing back and then reveals it. To make the matters worse [or better], he confirms that the character is not Jon Snow but might be the Hound. You can listen to his interview below.
It is definitely the Hound and you can read more about it here. Game of Thrones returns April 24.
