Ian Mcshane recently gave away a huge Game of Thrones spoiler where he said that his character “is really an ex-warrior who has become a peacenik. So I have this group of peaceful… sort of like a cult peaceful tribe, who have brought back… I bring back this much-loved character who everybody thinks is dead.”
** Spoilers Ahead **
Fans quickly linked this to the Hound/Gravedigger theory and deduced that he is likely to play the role of Elder Brother and will be responsible for bringing back Sandor Clegane. You can read about it in detail here.
Speaking to Telegraph, McShane tried to defend himself asking people to ‘get a f**king life’ and that the show is just ‘tits & dragons’:
“You say the slightest thing and the internet goes ape. I was accused of giving the plot away, but I just think get a f—ing life. It’s only tits and dragons.”
To make the matters worse for him, he possibly gave away another minor spoiler about his character:
“They asked me if I wanted to do Game of Thrones and I said, ‘Sure, I’ll be able to see my old pals Charlie Dance and Stephen Dillane’ and they said, ‘No, we’ve killed them off.’ I wasn’t sure whether I could commit, but then they said it would only be for one episode, so I said, ‘So that means I must die at the end of it. Great, I’m in.’”
Looks like he will be among the many casualties in Season 6. Well, April 24 isn’t far now and we can’t wait to see the Deadwood star and Rory McCann in action. If the Hound is indeed coming back, then a faceoff with the Mountain aka Cleganebowl is also very much likely.
