Netflix is producing a new period drama called Frontier with former Game of Thrones actor and the new Aquaman Jason Momoa, reports Variety. The drama will be commissioned by Discovery Canada and will debut in 2016.
Brad Peyton (San Andreas), Rob Blackie and Peter Blackie will be at the helm of the new series, which will be told from multiple perspectives and will see the characters battle it out for the control of fur trade business in North America during the 18th century.
The show is expected to feature a lot of close quarter fights as well as focus on the tensions between Europeans and the Native American Tribes. Alun Armstrong (“Braveheart”), Zoe Boyle (“Downton Abbey,” “Sons of Anarchy”), Landon Liboiron (“Hemlock Grove,” “Degrassi”), Allan Hawco (“Republic of Doyle,” “The Book of Negroes”) and newcomer Jessica Matten will co-star.
