We all know Barack Obama’s love for Game of Thrones and how devastated he was when Jon Snow was stabbed to death in the Season 5 Finale. He even asked episode’s director David Nutter, “You didn’t kill Jon Snow, did you?”, to which Nutter replied, “Mr. President, Jon Snow is deader than dead.”
The President of the United States again proved his love for the hit fantasy show in an interview with GQ recently when he chose Tyrion Lannister as the character he identifies the most with. And just like some of the other fans of the show, Obama is quite terrible at remembering names:
“My favorite character is probably … the dwarf, what’s his name? The problem with Game of Thrones, though, is that I don’t remember the names of any of the characters. So when I watch it, I know exactly what’s going on. But if you read a review of the show afterwards and they’re mentioning such and such, the only one I remember is Jon Snow, because I can pronounce Jon Snow.”
Obama also delivered a solid Tyrion style burn to Donald Trump when asked which Game of Thrones character would the US Presidential candidate be:
“Uh … I don’t think … I don’t think any of them rise to that level.”
Ouch! I am surprised the president didn’t drop the mic after that. He might as well send some cold water to Trump’s home now.
